The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme

 

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) invites expressions of interest from graduates with evidence of academic excellence, research ability, and good communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities for full-time PhD study within a newly PhD Fellowship Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC). The scheme aims to recruit outstanding graduates, irrespective of country of origin and ethnic background, to Hong Kong, and will provide a 3-year tuition scholarship.

 

With respect to the research areas of the Advanced Optics Manufacturing Centre (incorporating the Ultra-precision Machining Centre) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, you are invited to apply for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme in the following topics:

 

(i)  Fundamental research in ultra-precision machining, grinding/polishing, mechanics and modeling

(ii)  Ultra-precision free-from machining and measurement technology

(iii)  Design and fabrication of advanced optics to improve system performance of photovoltaic solar cells

(iv)  Applications of ultra-precision machining in the bio-medical and tissue engineering
