Background of AOMC

The Advanced Optics Manufacturing Centre (AOMC) is based in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytectnic University. Supported by a grant from the Innovation Technology Fund (ITF) of the HKSAR, the Centre is the first of its kind in Hong Kong to engage in the promotion and application of ultra-precision machining technology for precision mould and optics industries.

The centre is equipped with advanced ultra-precision machining and measurement facilities. The main emphasis of the centre's activities is on providing services in consultancy, contract research and manpower training. A closer collaboration with industry in developing custom-designed products forms a crucial part of our activities.
